Import Work from Jira

What this does

Use the Jira import page to bring Jira issues into LoopIQ as delivery and service records. Jira import is separate from the Jira integration settings page: integration settings store the connection, while the import page is where users choose what to import and run the import. Jira issues can be imported into:
  • Service Requests
  • User Stories
  • Tasks
  • Issues

Before you begin

Make sure:
  • your organization has Jira integration enabled
  • your role can manage imports or migration jobs
  • Jira connection settings have been saved successfully
  • you know which Jira project, issue type, or query you want to import
  • you are in the correct organization and team context

Configure the Jira connection

  1. Open Organization Settings.
  2. Go to Integrations.
  3. Select Jira.
  4. Enter the Jira Base URL, such as https://your-company.atlassian.net.
  5. Select Email + API Token as the authentication method.
  6. Enter the Jira account email.
  7. Enter the Jira API token.
  8. Save the integration.
The integration page is only for connection setup. Do not run imports from the integration settings page.

Import Jira issues

  1. Open Import / Export.
  2. Select Import from Jira.
  3. Confirm the Jira connection is available.
  4. Choose the target LoopIQ record type:
    • Service Request
    • User Story
    • Task
    • Issue
  5. Choose the Jira project, issue type, or filter criteria shown in the page.
  6. Review the preview or readiness results if shown.
  7. Start the import.
  8. Monitor the import status until it completes.
  9. Open the imported records from the target LoopIQ area and validate a sample.

How Jira fields map into LoopIQ

LoopIQ uses Jira fields to populate common work fields such as title, description, status, priority, assignee, source key, and source URL where available. Imported records keep source metadata so teams can trace the LoopIQ record back to Jira.

Troubleshooting

Jira connection cannot be saved

Check the base URL, email, and API token. The base URL should be your Atlassian site URL, not a REST API path.

Jira endpoint was not found

Confirm the Jira Base URL is the root Atlassian site URL, such as https://your-company.atlassian.net. Do not include /rest/api/3/myself in the base URL.

No issues are imported

Check the selected project, issue type, query, permissions in Jira, and LoopIQ team context.
